Andrew A. Cook, CPA, CA, CFA

 

 

Andrew is the President and CEO of Palette Investment Management Inc.,
a Canadian-based  fund manager.

 

Andrew has 24 years of experience in the financial services sector,  the past 17 focused on managing a variety of funds  for a number of investment organizations. His focus has been primarily on growth companies with substantial experience in the small and midcap parts of the market, and has spent a significant amount of time in the technology, health sciences and resource sectors.

 

An‎drew's investment philosophy centres on growth as the key metric. Whether looking at small high growth companies or large dividend paying companies, strongly growing companies typically attract more investors, higher valuations and higher share prices while minimizing earnings shortfalls and dividend cuts.

 

Over the course of his career Andrew has managed a number of various small cap, large cap, balanced and dividend growth funds. Andrew co-managed the Marquest Resource Fund from October 2003 to July 2010. ‎Over this period,the fund ‎was the number one ranked resource fund on globefund with an annualized return in excess of 20 percent.

 

Most recently he was manager of the Matrix Canadian Resource Fund and related flow through funds.

 

Andrew has worked in banking with the Royal Bank of Canada and in brokerage with Midland Walwyn Inc.  thus acquiring an extensive background in   equity research and credit analysis.

 

Mr. Cook is a Chartered Accountant and a Chartered Financial Analyst.

 

Through interviews in various newspapers and investment publications as well as appearances on BNN (Business News Network) including Market Call, Andrew has developed a media profile. He has been featured in Pat Foran’s books: The Smart Canadian’s Guide to Building Wealth, and The Smart Canadian’s Guide to Saving Money.
